Markus Ahrens, PhD, MBA, CPA, CGMA, FMAA, is a NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED accounting educator committed to innovation and student success. With over 15 years of industry experience before becoming a professor, Markus brings real-world knowledge into the classroom, making accounting concepts easy to understand and ENGAGING for students.
His innovative teaching methods, which emphasize TEAMWORK, COLLABORATION, and TECHNOLOGY, have helped students excel and achieve higher success rates.
Markus is also a respected leader in the accounting profession, having served as Chair of the Missouri Society of CPAs Board of Directors, Chair of the AICPA Academic Executive Committee, and President of the Teaching, Learning & Curriculum Section of the American Accounting Association and is currently a member of the American Accounting Association Foundation Board of Trustees.
