Biography
Frank Kudo is a Professor of Accounting at the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu (UHWO), where he has taught since 2006. He specializes in intermediate financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and advanced accounting courses. Dr. Kudo’s research interests focus on finance, management, and accounting.
He actively contributes to faculty governance, serving on the Faculty Senate and chairing the Academic Development Planning and Budget and Resource Committees. Dr. Kudo played a pivotal role in establishing the Certificate in Insurance and Risk Management program and has advised several student teams in competitions, achieving national recognition.
With over forty years of leadership experience in businesses in Hawaii and California, Dr. Kudo is currently the majority owner and Chairman/CEO of New City Nissan, which has received numerous awards for excellence. He began his career at KPMG and has served on various community and corporate boards.
Dr. Kudo holds a Doctorate in Management from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA in accounting from the University of Washington, and a BS in accounting from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has received multiple accolades for his teaching and research, including the UH Board of Regent’s Teaching Excellence Medal and the Distinguished Educator Award from the Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants.
